The jewelry repair manager was asked to test the stones and to see if he could work with them. At this point I also had to call my husband to give them the price of the diamond. After he inspected it he came back and said he couldn't work with it. I pressed the issue because I have the lifetime warranty on my rings which covers re rhodiuming the setting. Once he found out I was just requesting that my ring be re rhodiumed and that I'd had it done in that store before, he agreed to do it. It was at this point that I found out that even after his inspection all my stones tested as diamonds.
I don't normally do things like this, but I feel the need to share what happened to me today. I went to the Jared in King of Prussia, PA to have my engagement ring and wedding band re rhodiumed. My husband and I got the lifetime warranty on the rings so I've done this many times over the past 2.5 years. I was helped by the managers Claire and Aaron. Upon inspecting my engagement ring Claire tested the stones and found the center tested as a diamond, but the side stones did not. She found that odd so decided to inspect my center diamond further. When she checked for the serial # she found that my diamond is engraved with 'Gemesis created', and proceeded to yell across the store to Aaron about how she's never seen anything like that and how weird it was.
Alot of red flags here. It's a place where u get scammed. Video tape everything if you shop here. If you have any problems take it to ur lawyer or fox 29 investigates.
Staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Very personable sales people who know what they are doing. Did not feel pressured at all, unlike other jewelry stores.
Well, it's always hard to know if we were treated terribly because my partner is black and I am white, or if their customer service is truly so poor. My partner had to take two trips up to them because they were so unhelpful on the first one, he had to call corporate to get it straightened out.
When I explained that I've been to this store many times to have my ring re rhodiumed and asked what's changed, Claire told me she and Aaron are both managers. When I inquired further for an answer to my question all I was told was the store that set the stone for my husband shouldn't have done that.
Pompous, passive-aggressive salesperson and what was supposed to be a wrapped birthday gift that I was to pick up, not opened in the store, was opened by the salesperson and shown to me. Adding insult to injury he tried in a cunning manner to sell me a warranty by telling me I owed $ ??? After a barrage of insensitive remarks, you ask if I want a bag and add, "Oh, is this supposed to be gift?" and proceeds to tie a piece of used, wrinkled ribbon to a bag, fussing about how the bag doesn't match the box? I had to point out where the bags were??? Not that he changed the bag. The fact that this kid gave me 2 of his business cards telling me all about his many titles and asking me to give one to recipient of the gift, tells me he wasn't listening to a word I said when I went in to pick up "my gift". As a client service manager for a nationwide corporation I can tell you with certainty that your employees lack, training, skill and credibility. I would never step foot in a Jared store again.
At this point it started to feel like they were trying to embarrass me. Aaron kept repeating that the store shouldn't have set it. And they made a big show of testing my diamond in order to prove that it wasn't a real diamond, to the point that they even got another tester because the first couldn't possibly be working (it was), however all the testers they used proved that the diamond was in fact, a diamond.
Then, when we went back up there together, the salesperson never even looked at me or spoke to me. I also have an income and money. I could also be a potential customer, not just him. But not after our experience there. And now I see we're not the only recipients of their rudeness...
My husband purchased the diamond from Gemesis before they were bought by PGD, which I knew. When he went to Jared (in Langhorne, PA) to have the stone set he disclosed this information to them and they said they could work with it as long as they could verify it was a diamond, which they did.
All in all, my husband and I have had many positive experiences at the Jared in Langhorne, and up until now all of our experiences at the KOP location have been positive as well. However, after feeling belittled for an hour and a half for something that should have taken a few minutes I cannot recommend this location and will not be returning.
Horrendous customer service both on the phone and in person.
I was in the store for an hour and a half, only to find out that my stones are in fact diamonds and that they were only refusing to work with it because of the word 'created', they actually admitted to not knowing anything about Gemesis, expect for what the jewelry appraiser yelled across the room to them when Claire and Aaron were loudly discussing my diamond, which is simply that they were bought by another company.
